Rijkswaterstaat

Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) is the executive agency of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (formerly known as the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management until 2010). On behalf of the ministry, the organisation manages and develops the national road network, main waterways and primary water systems. Its core tasks include ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow, maintaining and improving the waterways system, and protecting the Netherlands against flooding.
